Alina is a dedicated therapy assistant who has experience in fostering a positive and inclusive environment for early intervention and youth support. Alina is passionate about assisting and mentoring diverse age groups, focusing on child and youth support to set personal, emotional, social and academic goals.
With previous experience in youth support coordination, mentorships, and allied health administration roles, Alina is enthusiastic to integrate her knowledge in child and cognitive psychology while working with diverse therapeutic approaches at Open Avenues psychology. She aims to implement engaging sensory activities to ensure the safety and well-being of all age groups.
Alina is keen to explore the fundaments of dialectical behaviour therapy, person-based therapy, integrative behaviour therapy and family play therapy. With her warm and friendly nature, she hopes to create an inviting and supportive environment where everyone feels valued and comfortable.
Senior Therapy Assistant | Practice Leader
As our Practice Leader at Open Avenues Psychology, Brittany plays a dual role essential to our operations. She skillfully manages a variety of tasks including accounts, client correspondence, and day-to-day operations, ensuring our practice runs smoothly and efficiently. Her expertise in optimizing processes enhances our commitment to excellence in customer service.
In her role as Senior Therapy Assistant, Brittany's passion for early intervention is evident. She employs a range of innovative therapeutic strategies, such as sensory integration, sound therapies, and relationship-based approaches, aimed at fostering holistic developmental outcomes. With a robust background in children's services and inclusion support, Brittany has expanded her skills through specialized training in The Tomatis Method, DIR Floortime, Rhythmic Movement Training (Reflex Integration), and Sensory Integration.
Brittany also contributes significantly to the development and facilitation of early intervention group programs for preschools. Her efforts to integrate educational and therapeutic interventions demonstrate her unwavering commitment to enhancing the growth and development of children.
Registered Psychologist | Play Therapist
Jennifer began her experience working as a psychologist within the behaviour support framework. From there she gained experience working within a school setting, mental health based employment service and, a multidisciplinary paediatric clinic. Since then, her work has been focused in private practice and not-for-profit organisations. Jennifer enjoys working with people of all ages whilst specialising in children and families. She treats her clients with warmth and respect and, a genuine non-judgemental curiosity. She takes a client-centred, strength-based approach resulting in an individually tailored evidence-based treatment plan. In addition to holding a Bachelor of Psychology, Jennifer has completed training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Schema Therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) and, Directive, Non-Directive and Family Play Therapies. When working with children and families, Jennifer takes an attachment-based approach while utilising Play Therapy techniques. Jennifer takes a special interest in child and adult attachment, parenting, intergenerational trauma and anxiety disorders. Jennifer is registered with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency, is a registered Medicare provider, a member of the Australian Psychological Society and works within the NDIS framework. She offers sessions via Telehealth, in person at our clinic in Luddenham and will consider home, school and community visits by request. Jennifer is available for appointments on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Jan is a registered psychologist who is warm and compassionate and works with young children, adolescents and adults. Jan is passionate about early intervention and has a particular interest in depression, anxiety and grief and loss especially pet loss. Jan uses a client centred approach and works collaboratively with clients to achieve their goals. She uses a range of evidence-based therapeutic styles including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy in assisting her clients in areas of emotional regulation, social skills, distress tolerance and reframing. In addition she conducts psychometric assessments of intelligence, learning and adaptive functioning. Jan also works within the NSW Department of Education as a School Counsellor with 8 years of experience in this area. Jan is a registered Medicare provider and also works within the NDIS framework. She offers sessions via Telehealth and face to face from our clinic in Luddenham and is available on Monday and Tuesday afternoons and on Fridays.
